Solar Activity
Solar activity was at high levels with multiple R1-R2 (Minor-Moderate) level flares since the start of the UTC day. Region 4114 (N18W01, Ekc/beta-gamma-delta) produced an M6.3 at 16/0938 UTC and an M1.8 at 16/0423 UTC. The region continues to grow in size and increase in spot number with a magnetically complex intermediate region. Region 4109 (N17W90, Cao/beta) also produced an M1.4 at16/1139 UTC, with the region now beyond the west limb its hard to determine its evolution. Region 4116 (S11W03, Dso/beta) showed growth in its leader from enhanced intermediate flux emergence but has been quiet. Region 4107 (S15, Lo154) produced multiple C-class level flares, including a C6.5 at 16/0148 UTC that had a Type II radio sweep with a velocity of1108 km/s as observed by the USAF Palehua radio observatory. The region is now beyond the west limb but its active flux ropes continue to be seen in imagery.
Solar Wind
Solar wind parameters continued to display signs of CH HSS as Earth remains geoeffective with the large positive polarity CH in the southern hemisphere. Total field (Bt) remained around 8 nT with the north-south (Bz) component oscillating between +/-9 nT. Solar wind speeds were around 470-520 km/s. Phi angle was predominantly in the positive (away from the Sun) orientation.
Energetic Particle
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels.
