Solar activity was at very low levels. The solar disk was spotless. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available imagery.
Solar wind parameters were elevated over the period, possibly due to a connection with the northern crown polar hole. Solar wind speed increased from approximately 440 km/s to near 510 km/s. Total field reached 10 nT at 13/1556 UTC before declining to 4 nT. The Bz component was between +8/-7 nT. Phi angle was oriented in a positive (away) solar sector.
