Solar activity was very low. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is currently above average, making retrograde effects moderately increased.
There are no planets in retrograde!
The Solar System at a Glance
Solar wind parameters were mildly elevated with a weak disturbance. Total field was agitated early in the day, and peaked at 8 nT. By the end of the day Bt settled to less than 5 nT. Bz underwent several brief southward deviations, none of which were less than -6 nT. Solar wind peaked at 435 km/s at 0945 UTC, but has since unsteadily waned. Phi was mostly negative, but began to oscillate between solar sectors late in the period.
There is a 10% chance of solar activity, with a 1% chance of a minor event, a 1% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
