Solar activity was very low. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
The solar kp index is unsettled, with retrograde effects slightly enhanced. The solar wind speed is high, making retrograde effects significantly increased!
There are no planets in retrograde!
The Solar System at a Glance
Solar wind parameters were indicative of continued, yet weakening, intermittent connection to the southern crown CH HSS. Solar wind speed decreased from near 500 km/s to just over 400 km/s. Total field ranged from 1-6 nT while the Bz component was between +2/-4 nT. Phi angle was predominantly negative, with occasional oscillations into the positive sector.
There is a 25% chance of solar activity, with a 5% chance of a minor event, a 1% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.
